Bass neck question

The first things I look for when considering the neck for a parts-bass are, "Is the neck heel the right shape?" and "Is the number of frets the same or will the bridge need to be moved?"
How good are you with tools? If it doesn't fit as a drop in you can always make it fit.
... and the Lakland has several more frets so the bridge will be in the wrong place from the heel, too far to consider that there might be enough travel for the saddles to compensate.
CORRECTION
The original Lakland bodies e.g. 44-94, 44-01, 44-02, and the five-string versons) are made for 23 frets, but the 44-60/JO and 44-64/BG are 21 fret. So you might be able to make the swap, but you'll have to drill ne mounting holes at the least.

4401/02 Have 22 frets. I think other lakie 4's are similar to fender. Lakland necks are narrower at the heel. That is side to side.
Thanks, my twork Laklands are 4-94s and I assumed all their necks were 23 fret. Edited my post
