Bass or my hands

If you're gonna do the Scotch Brite thing, I suggest the grey ones. They're finer than the green ones. I have one bass I use those on all the time (because after a while, the gloss starts to come back - unless you really do a proper satin finish job on it).

I'm an anxious person and I have hyperhidrosis, so my hands sometimes feel that way. The Scotch Brite thing helped me with an SX I had.

I have a wet towel next to me on stage. If I'm really sweating profusely, I may need to wipe my hands off between every song or two. Most of the time though, just every so often. I also have a dry towel for the bass. Grab the dry towel, wipe off the neck and strings with one pass, grab the wet towel, wipe off your hands, dry them on your pants. 10-15 seconds at the most.

I'm playing outdoors in hot humid weather a lot lately. I've used gloves and they do work pretty well, but really I've just gotten used to it. I keep a small dry hand towel nearby.

For me, just as annoying as fingers is when my right forearm slides on the body of the bass.

Gloss finished necks, use a good wax like Johnson's, Mothers, Meguiar's, etc. But BE SURE you use wax and not 'wax polish' which has microfine cutting grit to get rid of scratches. Couple coats, you'll slide up and down just fine.

I was thinking of suggesting this, too. It's a tip dropped by the guy who (formerly?) runs Fender's Custom Shop. Specifically, he said he uses 100% carnauba wax with none of the aforementioned abrasives or cleaners.

Strong fan blowing right at you. Even out side in the heat, my hands stay dry. And my hands get really sweaty historically.

This fan is one of the best pieces of equipment for playing live I ever bought. (M18 model; other models aren't nearly as strong as this beast)

I wonder how it would stack up against this blower fan I got from Costco when it was on sale for about $50 or so. One thing I really dig about them is how much softer the "wooshing" sound is compared to the "buzzzzzz" of other fans we've owned. Plus, it has two, extra outlets built into the chassis, so that's a nice "just in case".

We have two of them, now. One lives on our stairs' first landing, pushing the cooler air downstairs to help keep the upstairs cooler. The other is in our basement next to our dehumidifier, pointing at the opposite corner should the rainwater trickle in and to keep the dry air circulating throughout.

Those are nice. I picked up another model by Lasko a couple years ago. Super quiet, and has 2 outlets on it, which is nice.

The gig was last night. I went to Dicks to try and get those resin packs but they didn’t have any. I ended up using baby powder, and helped but I was using it almost after every song hahaha. Thanks for all the suggestions!!!!

Did it turn into a horrible paste? I had had an outdoor gig last night (Long Island, NY), where my usual nose grease trick didn't work very well. And we have more of these shed gigs coming up, definitely need to find a better solution!
