Bass PAF style humbuckers

Can you explain what you mean exactly by "PAF style bass humbuckers"?
Gibson style bass humbucker in general?
I know a few Kurtis Novak: EB-BSx, EB-Bridge, EB-O, but they are expensive
Artec makes much more affordable "Sidewinder Humbucker". I've just received a brand new Les Paul (inspired) Bass with these, they sound great.
Are you talking about this kind of pickups?

Closest I think you'll find will be some kind of exposed pole-piece "soapbar" pickup which are usually full width dual coil pickups with two pole pieces under each string. The DiMarzio Model One bass pickup is the only one of this type I can think of off the top of my head.
Two coils, reverse wound and reverse polarity, connected in series. AKA a humbucker.
It would help to know exactly what kind of pickup the OP is talking about here. As far as I know there is no such thing as a "PAF style bass humbucker".

IMO, not a humbucker unless both coils span all the strings and have magnetic polepieces on both coils. This is the form of "humbucker" pickup invented and patented by Seth Lover. the fact that there's two sets of magnets or polepieces picking up each string makes the pickup different from a split coil pickup. I consider all other split coil and dual coil types of pickups to be hum-cancelling. but it's not anything I'm willing to get in a fistfight over.
Yes, thank you, I had found out that PAF stands for "Patent Applied For", it refers to a famous Gibson pickup… for 6 string guitars.
So, given that no such thing exists for bass (there's no "Patent Applied For" Gibson bass pickup), the question was: what is OP looking for? Any kind of bass humbucker with a metal cover, or any Gibson bass humbucker, or a bass pickup that looks like a guitar PAF pickup?

Why exactly do you want a PAF for bass? They sound great in a mahogany guitar, but I'm not sure what the point is for bass.
As previously stated, the DiMarzio (above) is probably the closes option. I think the EB bridge pickup is closer to a bass mini-humbucker.

The magic of the "PAF" humbuckers is that they often had mismatched windings. It wasn't intentional, but it happened. This gave them a little more 'bite' or 'edge' than a humbucker with equal windings. And they had Alnico magnets.
@mikefoye is that what you're looking for, but for bass? I don't think there was ever a direct, correlating pickup. But you can use a standard PAF-type humbucker if that's the size rout you have on the bass.
