:( This thread's come a bit too late for me.

I recently sold all of these ...

... to buy this ...

... and now I've got nothing much left to photograph :hmm:. Doh!!!

Still, it's nice to come back here every so often and see what you guys are playing :). Some really eye-popping  basses in this thread :hyper:!

Was that a $10,000 camera?!?

Very nice, Evan. ;)

Can you tell us a little about it? (pickups, woods, et cetera)

Mike

indeed.

Pete Hilton is a builder in Carl Thompson's shop (and has been for the past few years). Carl gave Pete his blessing to start building his own instruments. There are about a 1/2 dozen out there.

Pickup - single Kent Armstrong (passive tone control only, Pete's passive circuit...similar to Carl's, but more subtle).

Woods - Top/headstock top/pickup cover = cocobolo, body/neck = walnut, back/headstock back = bocote

Misc = awesomeness...probably less than 6lbs, 32" scale, 29 frets (all accessible), intelligent design, PERFECT balance

Cool, Evan.

Much good luck with it.

Hope to see it before next August. ;)

Sorry to those who saw some of these in the Thunderbird specific thread...

Here are some recent pictures of my Filakovsky Jazz bass.

I've raved about it many times, but here is a photo that finally portrays this gorgeous Koa top as you would see it in person.

Some of you already know that I am the ambassador to the amphibians, and the ruler of the reptiles. But did you also know that I am the benefactor of the butterflies? :rollno: :D
So here are two buggy shots. The first, a cool background with a warm-toned insect...

And for those who prefer the opposite color combo, a warm background with a cool-toned butterfly.

I love this bass.

Mike ;)
