Have you seen the November 2018 Bass Player Magazine? The editor from Bass Guitar UK has taken over and the new format is now much like the UK one. I like it. More reviews, more "tuition", very similar look.
I have a tendency to read from back to front with magazines. I knew the cover said "New Look" but as I was reading I thought I was reading the UK mag.
I think it's a good change. Check it out.

I like the UK version for what it is - a UK take and perspective of the bass guitar. This “new” American version under new ... let me guess... UK ownership, simply copies the UK’s style which isn’t going to be helping to connect to American readers. In the issues I’ve received, it seems they are going to cover players more popular across the pond - though I suppose it worked out well with the John Deacon feature this month!

And it should be edited to read like an American mag: we don’t call our moms “mums” or our friends “mates.” In conclusion, as it were, I liked the differences there were before. I liked both mags for what they brought to the table. Now it feels like two of the same mag, and one doesn’t seem like a natural fit. And I don’t want to read about Mark King every month. That’s why they invented Geddy Lee!
