Bass playing Gloves??????

Great clip!. I may have heard this cat one time earlier with the Zawinul Syndicate? I do remember the gloves. Great bass player. I am curious who he is, what kind of bass that is, and what is the deal with the gloves? Good stuff.

Saw that but after I had permanently borrowed my son's gloves one year for an outdoor show in winter(see picture). I kept the gloves and used them when we played indoors in a "cold" room and noticed my hands cramped less and seemed(or were) "faster". I had also had a circulation problem in my left hand that was absent when using gloves. Been playing with fingerless gloves since.

I am on here today desperate for help. Long story short. Don't laugh at me. This is not funny! I am 48, and have played bass for almost 40 years. It's all I have left. I recently developed severe, painful, debilitating Psoriasis. It hurts to even have one drop of water hit my hands during an outbreak. Just when I finally got gig worthy equipment after heroin addiction and jail made my life savings disappear I get this stuff. Meds help a little. I see specialists (plural intended). I might be able to play more than I can now if I can find gloves that I can wear and play at the same time. Last outbreak kept me from playing for 6 months. I sometimes play with one or two fingers each hand just because I miss playing. There is a guy on You tube who plays with gloves. He won't answer my question. The question is: what kind of gloves are those? I don't have money, but if I find the exact type I will find a way to get the gloves in an honest manner. PLEASE. I am not joking. One of my meds is 44 bucks a PILL. That's 1280 a month. I want to try the gloves!

The other week it was really cold in our practice space so I kept a glove on my fretting hand while warming up. But I ended up really liking how it worked - it offered a tiny bit of muting and I felt like my fingers fretted better. I did a quick search for bass playing gloves and found some cheap cotton "guitar gloves", but I'm wondering if anyone knows of a thin, tight fitting leather glove. I'd like to replicate what I experienced the other week, but figured something that fits tighter than my normal lined leather gloves would work even better. Any ideas?

Yeah, Duck Dunn and Jaco, & Jamerson...several others never took them off!!!;):bassist: Come tho think of it, that limey youtube instructor/cult leader, is the only person I have ever seen who religiously wears one...God save the Queen!

Huge congrats on beating dope and glad your debt to society has been paid.
With all this good going on, maybe the issue will go away; sounds like you earned it.

I can understand if it's very cold or that your are alergic to SS or have a skin condition, otherwise no way.
The fingertips is where the tone is.
One time in freezing cold weather I tried fingerless gloves but it really didn't make my hands warm; took them of after 3 songs.
I hate playing outside in the cold; once was enough.

I bought some gloves and they lasted 10 hrs before the index finger formed a small hole. When my hands get sweaty they really help.
