Can anyone describe to me how a bass plug in such as overloud mark studio 2 works? I am completely new to any kind of bass plug in, but i am very interested in trying one and i have no idea on how it all connects together, or what is needed besides a bass, an amp, and a computer. It would just be used for playing at home, tinkering with different tones, and basically playing along to my favorite music.

Plug your bass into an interface, the interface into your computer, run a DAW of your choosing, and load the Overloud plugin onto the channel you're monitoring in the DAW.
So, an amplifier isnt involved at all? Also, does a better interface equal better sound?
An amp isn’t necessary, though you could still use one if desired.
A better interface may equal better sound. A consumer versus a prosumer grade device will be a noticeable jump in quality. Beyond that it’s a game of inches.
