bass reverb

the ebs dynaverb is a bit out of my budget. currently i'm looking at the digitech hardwire rv-7. have any of you guys used this on bass? how does it handle low fequencies? positive or negative results? all pros and cons please.
thanks

Delays and reverbs generally have no problem handling low frequencies, which is why there are few bass-specific reverbs. My guitarist brother uses the RV-7 and I have messed around with it on bass quite extensively. Every single one of its modes is awesome. If I ever get a reverb it will probably be this one.

I've heard good things about the Hardwire but haven't tried it myself.

But I can personally recommend the T-Rex Tonebug Reverb. It doesn't have as many features as the Hardwire but it is a great sounding, simple verb pedal. And it's tiny.

I personally own a Hardwire RV-7.
It's a great sounding reverb!
I've used it with both active and passive basses, and run all kinds of things through it. So far, I haven't had it start clipping on me. There is a slight volume boost if you crank the reverb level, but otherwise it's awesome!

I use reverb on a few songs, mostly slow ones. You can approximate it with a decent analog delay pedal with a very short time set, but it won't sound as 3d and may be prone to feedback.
It's also nice to use as a subtle always-on effect in smaller rooms.

I compared an older version of the EBS Dynaverb (non true-bypass) with the current one. The newer version produces more less metallic and fatter sound. IMHO, the newer version is a more natural sounding reverb pedal, especially in the low register of the bass. And the presets are slightly different, too.
