Bass Solo I can't learn

If someone could be so kind as to listen to the song Cody by Bowling For Soup and listen to the bass solo and tab it out for me, I would be greatful. I can't find tabs to that song anywhere and I tried playing it by ear, but it's a little too advanced for me. I'm still a beginner I guess. I've only been playing for a year. Well, thanks.

Figuring it out by ear will really be worth it, just take your time and understand that there may be sections you won't be able to get exact.

1. Make sure you know the key of the tune and the chords being used. This will give a rough idea about what notes might be used in the solo.

2. Listen to the solo and try to SING ALONG. Try to get the rhythm as well as the pitches as best you can.

3. Once you can sing a few bars, go to the bass and try to find the pitches you're singing. WRITE THEM DOWN as you do this!

4. Once you have a bar or two done, go on to the next.

The more often you do this, the more you ear will improve. I can guarantee you that you will learn a LOT if you spend a few weeks (or months!) trying to break down this solo.

Agree 100% with Brian - the actual process of trying this for yourself, will have huge benefits and even if you only get bits of the tune, it will be far more satisfying - plus you can use this experience when you try other things and incorporate the parts you do get, into your own bass lines ! :)

Well since nobody made a move to help you, just suggested that you help yourself, I decided to give it a try.
'Cryin' out loud, the guy told you he's a beginner...

Here you are!
