Bass sounds muddy??

I have an Ibanez TMB100 BG going through a Fender Rumble 40. Ever since I first got it, it has sounded muddy (mostly in the low end, but highs are effected as well). Ive had it since mid-December of 2016 (about 6 months) and haven't been able to get it set up until two days ago. Before the set-up, I had also been using roundwounds, but two days ago (after doing hours of research) I decided to switch to flatwounds as I mostly play more jazz/blues type of music. I'm big into bands like Floyd and Lenny Kravitz, and that's mostly all that I play (I write my own occasionally). Those types of bands generally have clean sounds and are not muddy at all. I thought the set-up and new strings would help, and they did to some degree, but it's still pretty muddy. I just need some kind of advice on how to fix it in the amp's EQ or the BG's knobs. It's pretty frustrating and I don't what else to do. It is a rather cheap bass guitar, but i have seen plenty of videos on YouTube with the exact same bass sounding really great and clean. Please help?

How is the eq set on your amp? How is the tone knob set on the bass?

Bass is slightly past the halfway notch, low mids, high mids and treble are at halfway notch. As for the bass tone knob, I'm not entirely for sure. I'd say that the tone knob is also about halfway. If you need pictures, that's no problem. Just let me know

You might start by turning the bass eq knob down and the tone knob up on the bass. Try turning the bass eq to 9 o'clock and boosting the low mid and high mid to 1 o'clock. Bring the bass knob up a bit at a time until it's full but not muddy.

Keep in mind it's a practice amp so it's not going to sound like a "big boy" in terms of producing clear low end.
