Bass Speakers

I bought a galien krueger mb212 a couple of years ago and in the first months the amp got a distorted sound, thankfully i still had my waranty and it was fixed. Now its happened again and only the upper speaker(not the tweeter) got a distorted sound! Has this happened to anybody else? Should I install different speaker or just have it repaired? Is installing different speakers than orignal a smart idea at all?

Change the speakers from the original, and maybe they'd sound ok, maybe horrible. That box design was probably designed around the speakers they put in there. I'd stick with repair as long as you can.

A few other comments about the speakers distorting... but People seem to rave about that amp.

How do you set the eq on your amp? Too much low end will eat your power, volume, and spkrs.

my bass is at about 12 the low-mid at 11, high mid at 3, and the treble at 11
