Bass stack/combo around $700

I need about a combo or stack around $700 that i will use in a venue around a bit smaller than basketball court, semi indor. I'm considering hartke but i tried the paper coned one and didnt seem satisfied and the shop didnt have the xl series so i need to rethink. can anybody give me a suggestion?>

For this price range, I would say buy used. Buy a decent head (there is a Carvin B800 for cheap in classifieds) and then buy a solid cab that will be bullet proof ( a couple Bergantino cabs for sale there currently too). You will have a pro rig that will not crap out on you and will sound great.

At your budget, I agree with seeking quality used gear and suggest you also start monitoring the musical inst. sections of
all the craigslist ads of your surrounding area for deals. http://www.craigslist.org/about/sites.html

GK 700RB-II and a Hartke 410XL will do the trick. Under $700 used. Both are very reliable and easy to find. The tone on this setup will be very transparent of what your bass sounds like.
