what is the best way to store a bass? i keep my geddy in a skb case with the case on is side. does this method hurt the neck? should i just lay it down into the case or stand the case up? is it good to keep it in a case all the time? thanks for all your help.

I had a pile of basses stacked in cases. Never had any adverse effects as long as they're not left in extreme conditions you wouldn't want to live in either.
I've kept them in their cases on their sides, upright, and stacked flat over the years with no problems. As long as they are kept in a controlled enviroment they should be fine.
