Bass Synth question: ZZ Top - Legs

I play in a classic rock band and I want to cover ZZ Top - Legs "authentically".
Has anyone used a bass synth pedal to cover this song? If so, what brand of pedal and what kind of settings are used?
Any help - much appreciated.

I used a pick, played 16th notes, DOD FX25 Envelope Filter and a MXR Phase 90. Don't judge me, it was 1984-5 and that's what I had to work with at the time. Thankfully, there are no surviving recordings of those gigs.
I'm sure today there are lots of better choices.
To be fair, the DOD did a fair job on "Thug".

According to this Wikipedia article Dusty's (original) bass parts were replaced using a Moog Source synth.

No ~ because I always play it live the way Dusty did - bareback, funky and nasty! Gone but not forgotten.
