Bass to head, from heads DI to computer

I have a GK MB500 head which has a bulit-in DI and i would like to start some recording. Other than that, i recently got Cubase 5 too. The plan is to plug my bass into the GK, from the built-in DI to the computer with a microphone cable which would have an XLR and a 1/4" jack. To the microphone input on my computer. Would this setup work and do i need aything else for somewhat fair quality? (Except skill of course

That should do the trick for a basic setup without buying an audio computer interface. But isn't the mic input for your computer a 1/8" jack?

You would need a 1/4 to 3.5mm reducer to make it fit.
