Bass volume

I've got a separate volume for each pup, but yes, one or both of them is all the way up when I'm playing. I use my hands and bass knob(on the bass)to vary loudness, I may also make an adjustment or two a night volume wise on my rig. I've always felt all my basses sounded their best with the volumes dimed, I want to hit my amp as hard as possible.

Volume on bass all the way up. I set my volume using the amp. If I need a little volume boost I usually do it with a pedal. I do like the idea of leaving the bass' volume down a bit to give myself a bit of tweaking room if needed.

The OP is asking about ACTIVE onboard systems NOT passive systems ding dongs...

And as for me, I keep all my onboard eq knobs in the middle or flat position.

My bass is passive with VVT controlling Nordy Big Singles, so I treat the volume controls like gains as the tone changes quite a bit from 3/4 to dimmed.

Very interesting perspectives and reasons. Keep 'em coming. Seems like you can really hear what your bass can do with the volume up there, at least 1/2.
