bass vs guitar

Nope.

It's all about interpretation we all come from different POV. :)

You could always report the guy. I know I wouldn't like to be dissed for playing more than one instrument!

ps. I've tried sax before. It didn't help me be a better bass player, but it was sorta fun. The cool thing about woodwinds is that there's no TAB for them. You darn well better know how to read music!
 
For me it's not bas vs guitar, but rather bass & guitar.
I love them both.
Guitar is still #1 for me, but I've been playing more & more bass over time--especially since getting a fretless.
And I've added mandolin as #3.
But bass is not really #2...
Almost a 1a--which sounds better than saying it's #2...
