Bass wiring Troubleshoot

So a while ago I realised that my bass had stopped giving out signal when I plugged it in. I usually just play unplugged so I'm not sure what the exact cause could have been.

I opened it up and found that a wire was disconnected to the live part of the jack input. So I soldered that on and yet still no signal? Everything else seems to be in the right place and soldered correctly, Yet still no signal when I pluck a string above the pickups.

Has anyone else had this problem I doubt it's to do with the make (Squire P-bass).

How can I test that the pickup are producing signal?

Thanks
