BassCliff came to town ...

[Munjibunga]

... so my wife and I went to see the Kelly Rae Band featuring BassCliff. Here's the dirt - he's got great bass chops but also handles some of the lead singing chores. My favorite was "Love Train." He sang it just like the O'Jays on Soul Train. The band played a great mix of country and pop tunes that filled the expansive dance floor for the whole concert. On the way home, my wife said, "I'd go see those guys any time." Maybe my band could get a gig to open for them (if you catch my drift).

It sure was a pleasure meeting you and Mrs. Munjibunga! That was a huge fun crowd and we all had a blast. Everyone treated us well, organizers, sound crew, etc. There's a lot to like about that gig. Thank you so much for coming out and saying "Howdy". I enjoyed chatting and hope we can meet up again. I'd enjoy hearing one of your bands some time. Take care.

The concert is held on a softball field. The stage is set up at home plate and the tarps are covering the dirt infield. It allows for dancing and merriment with out kicking up a lot of dust and ruining the playing surface. The crowd sets up their chairs, blankets, and picnics in the outfield. Yes, a good gig!

I'd've loved a sandwich (and they had 'em) but I had just eaten a big plate of spaghetti with homemade (by me) sausage sauce. Yum.
