Just rode a trail that I haven't ridden in possibly a decade. I shouldn't have waited so long. It's like a barrel full of junkies! 
So after a few days of constant rain we finally had a dry day although it dropped to 32 this morning. As bad as I wanted to be in the woods I knew it would be a mess so I was a good citizen and stayed out. So I resorted to the gravel trails and some road on my mountain bike it took me to a route that I don't normally take when I'm in the woods but it occurred to me I could stop for a pic as I wasn't hammering. Here's a pic looking down on the Hudson River and Piermont NY

Got back into the trails today for a few hours before the rain started again. Definitely my happy place

Back in the saddle! I hurt my back a few weeks ago, finally got to the point where I felt that I could go out for a longer ride without it being a big risk. This is one of my favorite short local rides, just out in the Wisconsin farmland. Nothing spectacular, but pleasant. It's a region that's endless rolling hills, so you get some nice climbing work plus plenty of coasting.
End of the San Gabriel River Trail that travels 40 miles from the foot of the 10,000' San Gabriel Mountains to the Pacific Ocean.
Just picked a nice Motobecane fat bike for winter...can't wait!
Other life circumstances have conspired to keep me off them for the past couple years but hopefully I'll at least get back out on the trails some time soon.

Remembering when we could take a Caribbean cruise and rent a bike to explore an island. If it wasn't in such a place, the one-day rental price of this rust-bucket would be more than the bike is worth on the mainland. I actually rode it for about four solid hours on Grand Turk, squeaking and creaking every pedal stroke of the way.

Nice, I picked up a used Specialized fat bike last year and literally the week after I got it before I had a chance to ride it any further than down my street to make some adjustments, I had my terrible mtb crash that put me out of action for several months. So I only have about 300 yards of miles on it...
I should get it ready for this winter, I think the giant tires are flat...
With all the rain last few days I stayed out of the mucky wet leaf covered woods this morning and hit a long gravel trail that runs up the Hudson. A little chilly and windy along the water but was super clear out. Good for 3 hours.
The views from the Santa Ana Mountains were ridiculous today!
The uppermost dark line is Catalina Island some 50 miles away.
San Gorgonio Pass approximately 50 miles in the other direction. Palm Springs lies on the far side of the pass.
