It finally came, the Orbea XC bike I ordered a few months ago. It's a strong frame with a Shimano XT parts group.

An art-pic first. I got a rear-flat on the maiden voyage soon after taking these shots. Of course, I didn't have a 5 mm Allen wrench handy but I was close enough to home to get back on one inflation.

Have not bonded with the saddle yet. Other fizik saddles I've had were only good for about 50-60 miles. Needs a QR for saddle height.
Shifting and braking are superb. The Fox Performance fork is super-plush so having the bar-mounted lock-out instead of a front shifter is nice.

Lots of gears, 34t chainring with 11-51t cog-set. Cheapest bottle cages in the store, $5 each! The little knobbies are appropriate for the local train when it's dry. The tires will probably wear down quickly though.
Verdict: Needs a few touches but it's a keeper.
(edit: And just my luck, it rains this week-end)
