Basses for us weak folks

Check out a Spectorcore. I've found them around 300-400USD used, they're semi-hollow and sound great with the soapbar and piezo.

Steinberger Synapse, i bought it for that reason and it sounds like in your best dreams, also if u like traditional body shape, then i suggest the YAMAHA RBX A2 A.I.R. (Alternative Internal Resonance) Construction. Extremely lightweight yet maintains the tone/resonance of heavier-body guitars.

I found out 2 little things this week.

1) My shoulder is getting better
2) a wide strap helps.

Although a lighter bass would be just splendid, I think for now I need a good strap.

I don't know the currency difference, but you can snag a Traben bass for 350-700 american dollars. They are extremely light and have an awesome sound.

Shipped here (Oz) they range from $500 to 900 but I've heard they're very good value for money... like they're often as good as some $1500 basses.

How about an Ibanez SR? I don't know about Australia, but they seem to be everywhere in the US and the ones I have tried out have been light. Someone already mentioned an Aerodyne, if you want another jazz bass that could be the way to go.

Yeah SRs are everywhere here too.

IMO, I think you should mod your strap as much as you can, maybe even making a special strap that goes over both shoulders. I'd give it a try before looking into buying new basses, but hey, that's me.

second of all, go down to allan's or hydes and ask to look at the higher end ibanez lines man, real thin and fairly light, great tone, about 1500-2000

I do love Billy Hydes.

I will try the Ibbys, but none of them really struck me.

And it's not a Divinyls reference, as much as I love them.
