Basses that look fun to play

The only bass I ever saw that I thought would be "fun" to play was this -

I got to play one of those at a gig. Some guy brought it in to show our guitarist and he wanted me to play it so he could check out the sound in a band setting. It was OK....I like to bend alot of notes and every time I would bend em....they would die right out....I mean no sound at all.....just dead. Other than that, it was a fantastically crafted bass. A real pleasure to see and hold. Not my cup of juice though. Not really tough getting used to the twist either.

Not sure how "fun" it looks, but they're definitely fun to play!

Sometimes I think people just go "Hmm, what's the weirdest shape I could possibly make a bass?" lol

For a guy like me this looks appealing:

I would spend the whole time doing hammer-ons with my left hand and turning all those knobs, one at a time. One note, ding ding ding ding. I would be able to empty a universe with that sort of performance.

Imagine getting to play that thing, or Phil's Quad Bass through the Wall of Sound though... what an experience.

Just found this company, Krappy Guitars. I suppose they appeal more to my odd sense of humor. Have a look at their punk basses, multi-string touchstyle, & exoticustoms.

I've played a couple of Gus Guitars creations at guitar shows. They are just as much fun to play as they look.

I think an acrylic bass would be interesting to play. A lot of the basses shown here though seem more like novelites than anything else.

Charlie Singleton formerly of the funk group Cameo has a guitar business. No basses at the moment, but I'm sure if someone wanted one made he could get one made to look like these guitars. These definitelly look fun.

First gigs on this today. I was a little worried as I haven't played a 4-string in over a decade. One or two mistaking the A string for an E string, but the thing was a serious hoot to play. Now just need a fretless version of it...

there was a pic of a dingwall fanfret that looked like jazz, black with a white pickguard I think it may of had a maple neck but I could be wrong, screamed play me. I have never played a fan fret but that one just looked so fun ..

I'm with you on that. I would have absolutely no use for something like that but every time I see something like, say, BIG CHEETO's new 9 string Bee I just want to wrap my fingers around that neck and see if I can play anything on it.
