The only bass I ever saw that I thought would be "fun" to play was this -

I recall seeing this bass pic somewhere too. Yes, it does look interesting.

The ibanez ashula also looks interesting (the 6 string with 4 normal fretted strings and 2 fretless strings on the treble side)

This thing looked so fun to play I bought it! Glad I did. Wishnevsky 'Banana Bass', short scale, with a K&K piezo pickup and LaBella tapewounds.

Of course I spent many hours refinishing it and installing the pup, etc., etc. ...

Just found this company, Krappy Guitars. I suppose they appeal more to my odd sense of humor. Have a look at their punk basses, multi-string touchstyle, & exoticustoms.

awesome thread. although I know it's going to wind up getting me into trouble, I have to plug in. already gassing for the 2 string. happy that I couldn't find where to buy it or a price. yet.

Whenever I see pics of a Lakland Dunn or Osbourne I get an overwhelming urge to hunt one down and play some grooves on it.

Same goes for the Fender Kingman - that thing just looks like it was made to be played.

I think cort curbows look (and are!) really fun to play. It is probably one of the most comfortable basses ever to play!

It is pretty fun to play. you guys do know it's tuned EADGDG? But those fretless strings are very fun. I tried one @GC.

The thing is massive lol. Looks like it would be interesting to have something that size and shape strapped around you.

Those things are tanks.

Brutal. Try doing to big old "hold it vertical in the air with one hand on the neck" move. Doesn't happen.
