Basses that stand out live visually, but aren't over-the-top

You know the saying "the audience listens as much with their eyes as their ears" I find to be true to an extent.

Show me some basses you've used live that got attention, but not in a ridiculous way.

Peavey GV in Holoflake Black. Sparkles work really well with stage lighting. I cannot find any pictures of it under stage light at the moment so here is a random one I took.

I always loved everything in black. An experienced player pointed out to me, the body shape stands out better onstage or in video in a brighter color. So I have been gravitating towards lighter colors and damn they do look good onstage.

Yeah I have a natural tendency to gravitate towards black basses. But I also tend to wear black on stages that are already dark so those basses (and myself) just disappear visually. I know for a lot of players being able to hide and do your thing is a positive, but on the other hand giving the audience a bit of eye candy never hurts too.

Nice! I had a green one (4 string) I should have never sold.

Great basses. My parents bought that one for me new old stock in 2003. Needed a bass to stay in my high school music locker at the time. Kept it this long and do not expect to ever get rid of it.

Can't tell in the pic but the finish on my Guild has a little bit of flake in it and the color also changes some depending on the lighting (from green to more gold). I like how it looks like an 80's bass but a tad understated...

I think the Old Man (of the Mountain) is the one that gets the most frequent comments from audiences.

I'm also fond of Def Cats' look... older pic from long-hair days, but I still have her.

C'mon now. I think that's a rad bass but unless you're buck naked on stage it ain't really gonna stand out much.

Those Fender Deluxe Jazz basses are cool - Fenders second 24 fret bass. Still are very affordable also.
