Also name a few basses with fast necks. I'm a metal player by the way. Are Spector necks fast?

(My) Warwick Corvette $$. These appear to come with more than one neck shape.
Carvin LB75. I think ALL Carvin models have fast necks, they used to market their guitars and basses with the term "fast neck."
MTD 535 and MTD Kingstons.
My Lakland 55-02 has a thin neck compared to my Musicman, easy to get around on, but I wouldn't necessarily put it in the "fast" category.

I really don't think the neck should be classifed as faster, slower or otherwise. The speed of playing, last time I checked is the player, not the neck. Personally, I say if you want to play fast, play a guitar.

We all know that fast necks are only put on basses made for playing metal. And of course the fastest neck of all is only on the BEST bass for metal.

i dunno, but i tend to fumble on thinner necks on Ibanez basses and etc. especially 5-stringers. i do own a Jazz bass and a Stingray style bass and i can easily say both feel comfortable for me. i cant wait for my new lakland to come in though because i'd love to have a neck in between my Jazz and my 'ray.

I think Jazz style necks will lay it down to you but it all depends on the player.. I prefer Stingray like necks which is pretty fast IMO..
