Basses with f-holes

alright...ive fallen in love with the look of f holes....i want a bass with a head with 2 on one side and 2 on the other, but not a big body like the les paul guitar, but not a body like a fender...i dont like the bog body look...and im tired of the fender look....i want a fresh look....im thinking of a bass that looks jazzy.....anybody know what im talking about?

Well not exactly an "f" hole but it looks classy.

PS: I picked up an Ibanez artcore awhile ago one of the older models (the one in the red/brown finish) and it played/looked awesome. I had to return it because I decided to save up for a Dingwall than add to my collection of Basses under $600.

PPS: No the Dingwall below is not mine, almost was but then I ordered something else. . . not like anyoen cares haha.

Yes, I had the AGB140 and I quite liked it. Construction/finish was good and the neck felt pretty good also.

It sounded great but I would say it had very limited tone shaping, the tone knob didn't really do much.

I think the dual puckup one would give more tonal abilities, or I hear if you mod the single pickup version with a darkstar pickup youcan get much more tonal variety.

Do you know if there's too much tonal difference between 1 and 2 pickups versions? Where I live there's a good difference of price between them.

Hi,

Modulus makes their quantuam series basses with "F", but Ithink it is about a 500 or 600 dollar option. I own a Modulus Q6, with no F holes and I compared it to Modulus 5 string with f holes and really couldn't tell any difference. The f holes do look cool though.....Hope this helps. good luck

I can't tell you since I have not played the two pickup model. I am sure you can find some reviews on the net somewhere. Also if you get the chance at your local GC you can go play them.

Rob Martinez: you said you play the 8string from that site you showed. Hows the build quality. sound quality etc. I've been lookign to add an 8 to my arsenal, and a hollowbody, I can save money by doing it all at once haha.
