Basses with Wenge top-??????
I've seen just a few early Elrick's and some Wal's...
I own a 84 Wenge top Monarch 4.....which is my No.1 bass!
PICSSSSS!!!!!!!!!! I bet that is absolutly beautiful.
My favorite: LeFay Pangton! Although I think the entire body is wenge, not just the top!
I used to own an 84 or 85 Monarch 4 with a Wenge top
Nice Alembic Excel.
Man that LeFay is to die for!!!
That must weigh a ton. One piece body of solid Wenge?? How does it not warp?
My baby, Le Fay Capone (ash body w/wenge top).
Very comfortable and well-balanced. Although I haven't weighed it, it's not unusually heavy at all and seems to weigh about as much as the others in the stable.
Reiner builds a mean bass!
For wenge lovers, this one is Wenge top and back, with wenge neck and fingerboard.
Only piezzo PU, it sounds great, very bright. Perfect for tenor tuning.
I own a lovely 1983 Wenge top Wal Mk1.... luffly!
Skjold Wenge Top, I'll have to get some new pics of it with Finish on it.
Wow! What are the specs on that bass? IS the core Limba or Walnut? That bass would look cool with the Whit Wenge board.
more pics here
and it probablly comes from the same piece of wood that pete used to make my '83 mach I s.n. 2049
what's yours serial number?
Ya know, I dont remember. I think its mahogony or spanish cedar though for the core. And I dont remember what kinda fingerboard is going on it, Ill check it out next time Im there, it should be close to done now Id think.
