Hi I am thinking about purchasing an upright bass and I was wondering if anyone could give me the name of a decent quality bass that is not to expensive. I'm not looking for something awesome, just something with good action and sound that will get me playing again . Say maybe in the $500 to $1000 range? I'm not even sure if that's a good price range lol

More than probably; certainly. Especially since cheap junk basses often self-destruct, and are likely to be uneconomic to repair.

They are simple code names. The fact is that this particular bass is a decently made double bass and String Emporium is a company which supports its instruments.

Considering that Bob Gollihur at Gollihur Music sells the same bass brand new for three hundred dollars less, I'd have to say:

Notice, the ad says "like new". That means it's not new. And the seller wants more than Bob Golihur (South Jersey) does for a new Englehardt?

If you are not prepared to do a complete setup from scratch on one of the ebay specials, including spending some $$ on upgrade parts to make it playable and reliable, then purchase a bass from one of the above recommended folks for @$1500.
All of you people rock! I'm going to wait and keep saving up for the Shen Sb80. It's going to take a while but for now I'm just palm muting and holding my Zon electric in an upright position as if it were a real upright LOL. I know that the correct form is a bit different technique on upright but for know this keeps me inspired while jamming along to my Charlie Parker cds! Thanks everyone for your help.

Try tucking a small sponge under the strings right back at the bridge for that thumpier Motown/Nashville sound. 
What Jake said. It is how Leo originally outfitted the original P-bass, and it's what I've done on my P-style custom bass - foam under the ashtray. It's not perfect, but it gives some of the natural roll-off to get more "bloom" on the front end.
Also, the new Fender flats, 9050CL set 45-60-80-105, have some "upright-ish" growl to them, and would be a good string to get used to playing on a slab in the meantime as a way to transition from electric round wounds to something that actually has tone instead of just hollow ring or thump, as most electric flats are, as you travel on the road towards upright.
