There is a great interview of bassist Rich Brown in the new issue of Bass Musician Magazine. I first heard Rich play on the following CD's by pianist Andy Milne:

*Dapp Theory-Y'all Just Don't Know
*Andy Milne's Cosmic Dapp Theory-New Age of Aquarius

Rich is very melodic and grooves like crazy!!!
Here is the link to the interview:

You really owe it to yourself to check out Rich Brown!!!

A Groove is a Terrible Thing to Waste!

YES!! Rich has been a favorite of mine for some time now. I've been lucky wnough to develop a friendship with him over the past few years and am happy to report that he is as nice, sweet and generous as he is talented. One of the most melodic soloists out there. That, in conjunction with one of the deepest pockets & tastiest lyricism in the game... One of a kind!
Also keep an eye out for his great new band, "Rinsethealgorithm". They're recording their first CD and the band is just rediculous! Great stuff..
actually, here's a LINK to a live show they played in Toronto. He said he didn't mind if I put it out there in the world, so....DIG IT!!!

I once brought an Autorickshaw CD to a bass lesson, in order to analyze and work on some of the grooves and solos there were in it - because I was thinking (and still do): this is how I wanna play. After listening to a couple of excerpts, my teacher, a very knowledgeable musician (however mostly a guitar player), had this surprising comment: "not only does he sound good, but he sounds like a good person..."

I am glad he is beginning to get more recognition.

Also, there was a concert of him with a group, and I don't think it was Rinsethealgorithm - but I don't know, on the CBC a couple of nights ago. It was fantastic. Did anybody else heard that?

Hey guys. A little bird told me you were here having this little chat.:hiding: I was so happy to read all of your posts (and relieved to see that there were no "that guy sucks" posts). As it turns out, there are 2 concerts recorded by our beloved Canadian Broadcasting Corporation that you can hear "on demand". Rather that babble on and on about the gigs I'll just post the links.

Thank you, rich, for sharing you God-given gifts with the bass community. I was, and still am, very inspired and humbled by your playing with Andy Milne. I am still in the woodshed-which is a good place to be!

I just got the rinse the algorithm CD today. That's some bad*** stuff, Rich! The writing, the playing, and the interaction between the band members is just great!

Thanks, Rich!
