OK, guys and gals...this one is up to you.
I am a dinosaur in that I came from a time and a place much before most TB members were born. I did play bass professionally back in the '60's, so I am older. Because of this, I know there are a decreasing number of musicians like me, who lived during this time and, this music became a part of their lives. I do believe that this music should be preserved, remembered and played because it laid the foundation of all the music that has since evolved.
So, I am suggesting that there be a club of those who appreciate this music and want to ensure it is not forgotten.
I want to honor those who contributed to the Bassists of the '60's. People like Jaco, Dunn and others. Artists like Booker T and the MG's, Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett, Temptations, Sam and Dave, Marvin Gaye and many, many others.
This would not be a formal club. If you want to join, use your first post number as your membership number.
It doesn't cost anything, just post your favorite musician, group, song and offer insights and questions regarding this music.
It is up to you if this continues. Let me know your comments...
