Bassists with small hands...

I a long with my feet, have big hands... But it wasn't always this way, when I started playing when I was 12 it was a different case. I had a sugnifican growth spurt when I was 16, before that I got caught up in ibanez basses. Skinniest neck I've ever played, crappy tone though. Now... I have no problems moving.

It's a custom Conklin, and a sweet one at that.
I agree with the technique issue. I have a GT-7 and I'm 5,5. Not a hard instrument to play.
But if you are set on looking for a bass with a fast slim neck, check out a Kubicki.
Victor Wooten is 5'7, and I have no complaints about his bassing. 
John Myung is 5'7, and I also have no complaints about him. He plays 6 string by the way.

Yep. He also has a signature model six string with a tighter string spacing, for those who feel they need it tighter..

Again, not from what I've seen.
Yamaha, Fodera, Ken Smith, MTD, Brubaker, Warwick... they all make wide spaced sixes. Most of these use wide spacing as the default. If you're talking about low cost instruments it seems they're moving away from the old "five string neck with an extra string" thing.
In Belgium, you may be right. Here we have lots of choices, in lots of price ranges..
I'm 5' even and have small hands. It's the back of the neck that gets me, rather than the string spacing; for instance, F-basses feel huge to me.
I have an old Tobias 5-string that fits nicely. I also got a Garz from Frank Wilson, who apparently orders very small necks, and I've been pleased with it. It's my understanding there's a Nordstrand for sale that was made with a small neck for Frank (but is now owned by someone else), and he's always got interesting basses up for sale. He's in Rhode Island, if you could get there to check them out.

I'd go with a Fender Zone Bass. They have the skinniest neck i've ever played. Or get one of those 2 or 3 string custom basses like that one guy from that one band...
