Bassman/Rumble combinations

It's a shame the Rumble 112 went away because two of them with a Rumble 500 head was a great compact rig. If I were to go all Fender, I would look at the new Rumble 800HD head and possibly two of these.

I play a Bassman 500 w/ a Rumble 410 and couldn’t be happier in terms of tone and portability. The head is crazy light and looks cool. The cab is just about what I can lift comfortably but I also slapped some 5 inch wheels on that bad boy. The only other combo I wish I’d tried is stacking 2 210s vertically so I could hear myself better but I lift it up on an 18” platform which works fine.
Yes but they are only 2 inchers. Not so great for rolling across parking lots, over door thresholds etc.
As an owner of a Bassman 500 and Rumble 115, you know where I voted. I used a Rumble 100 combo at my job for a few years, and while I think it has a good preamp section, and many people would be perfectly happy with that amp, the Bassman is a different amp all together. Yes, same power amp, but the preamps are totally different. I really fell in love with the Bassman.
I already posted in the Bassman group, I just played a three hour cover gig with that setup and no PA support, and the Rumble 15 cab was great. Plenty of volume and sounded nice and punchy.

I run a Super Bassman into a Bassman 410 neo. I really like this combo. You might be able to find a used rig like this for a reasonable price.

Doesn't the Bassman have that silvery Fender cloth thing going? I saw that it's an option on Revsound cabs so that's another cab option for the head.
That's an option on a lot of cabs you can have built. That isn't what the question is though.
Bassman head is the obvious choice between those two. Buy a good head, bring it to all the shops you can and audition all the cabs with it before you settle for Rumble neos.
"Blackface" refers to the control panel strip being black. All the Fender products of a certain era were, so it is called the Blackface Era. That was followed by the Silverface Era.
I would use the Rumble head with the bassman cab. The Bassman head with the Rumble cab would take the Rumble family tone (pretty bass-rich) over the top (too bassy) due to the relatively low damping factor of the Basman tube amp. OTOH, maybe that's what you are looking for...
That's very interesting, would you elaborate on low damping factor? I've not seen this discussed before. I assume you are aware that the Bassman that is being referred to is a hybrid with a class D power section. To be clear I am not trolling, I'm totally ignorant of what a damping factor is.
Edit: just took a crash course on amplifier damping. If I understand it correctly, the class D power section of the Bassman 500 will have the exact same damping rating as the identical power section found in the Rumble 500. You learn something new everyday
