Beatle Basses versatile?

Not in my experience but they can do what they do very well, more like an upright in tone. I used to own a Rogue VB100 which with flatwounds was every bit as good as the Hofner in my opinion.

I am too interested in this:), im wondering how aggressive these violin basses can sound when not strung with flats, I really dig the look and low weight, im curious as to how one of these Link Removed would sound strung with a set of shortscale Rotosound Swing Bass

If you provide me with a e-mail address I can send you a recording of the Rogue VB100 with the stock roundwounds, through an Ampeg CL/8 x 10 Emulatulation on a Line 6. Sounds kind of like a Ric to my ear.
