I'd love to drive 2 hours go get this but that doesn't seem likely. Hopefully one of you can. I don't know why it is priced so low. I swear it was recently lowered because I want to say it was maybe $1500-$1600 last week? These regularly go for $2000 or more here on Talkbass.

Someone grab this!

I am tempted to drive out there tonight or tomorrow and see what the catch is. Maybe they just need it moved quickly. I've been in that position more times than I can count.
Also I don't really NEED another Ray or another bass that color lol.

I had one of those Classics in Mint Green, but mine had a rosewood board. Beautiful bass, and I often wish I hadn't let it go. But I recently found a sweet SLO Special, so now I don't miss the Classic. At least not as much. But I do love that color!

Guilty. After sharing it on here, I was hoping a TBer would snatch it up before my gears starting turning. I wanted an HH Ray to replace my natural ash Ray. But after thinking about it all last night and this morning, I realized I couldn't pass it up. So I e-mailed the guy, not expecting him to respond so promptly. I thought maybe another TBer had gotten to it before me but no. It was still there. I had to act. I asked him to do $1300 since he had it at $1250 yesterday and I had to draw from a line of credit to make the cash available. But he said no, $1350 was as low as he'd go. I said that's fair. After going out to see it, I know why. At $1350, it is a phenomenal deal. My wife was busy this evening which gave me the perfect excuse to take a 2 hour solo road trip while listening to surf rock. I drove to Des Moines and met the guy - a very nice gentleman - I would have felt bad buying it for a penny less. He was fully aware he could get more but didn't want to deal with the hassle of a non-local sale. Just got home with it and put it next to my Drake Jazz (surf green) and realized that the Stingray (seafoam green) is much darker. Which I'm happy for - I like my basses to look different.

It's nearly immaculate and only 9.3-9.5 lbs give or take. Set up perfectly with EB flats and the fretwork is impeccable. It's "different" enough in color from my Drake Jazz for me to justify it. Now I REALLY have to sell my natural ash Stingray ASAP.
