Becoming a Teacher, need advice

My humble (and long-winded) two cents is to develop a series of modules that you can use in various orders based on the student.

+1And this is why personal lessons work because they cater for the student. You can target a weakness and make it a non-issue for later things to come.
All i ask of any students or players that i deal with is they are honest in telling me that they understand or do not understand what is being said.
It is for me to find a way to get the information through and make it stick. I have to find a way to relate and interprete for them what is basically free to read all over the net...i have to present it so that they understand what is really going on and being said.
To that end i tell them
"never think think it is stupid to say you do not understand..even if it is for the tenth time, say it again untill you do learn to understand what i am saying."
" I will never say you are stupid for doing so, but i will say you are stupid if you say you understand something when you don't." :)
