I get it. They want a club for those that just play for their own enjoyment at home either to songs they like or making their own sounds yet never intending to join a band or gig. They're probably using way less speaker size and wattage with basses that don't need to 'cut thru a mix', and some inexpensive multi effects units will be "good enough" for many if they're just coming thru an 8" practice amp, etc.
How many times do we see an amp/cab question posed from someone who never intends to gig or play with others where 1/4 - 1/3 of the respondents chime in with "well, with this ××× would leave you the option down the road to add another cab." I've been guilty of that myself.
