...it's been a while since I've been actively involved in recording and now that I've gotten back into playing music on the regular, new ideas are forming that I'd like to record.
To my sadness, it seems that there is no simple and reliable way to get my firewire digi002 mixing board back up and running as a recording interface, so I'm curious what's the quickest and easiest way these days to have a multi-track recording setup that I can easily output my ideas to mp3 or other friendly format for quick playing without having to convert/bounce? I don't need anything professional, but really just some way that I can lay down a bass track and then layer on guitar, drums, vocals, etc. Being able to edit the tracks would be nice, but is not required. My preference would be a solution that leverages just an ipad or an android phone since these days I pretty much use a tablet or a phone for my computing needs and only have a windows laptop for work (I still have my macbook pro from my digi002 days, but that machine has had so many parts replaced that I'd be surprised if it turns on more than a handful of times more).
Any and all suggestions of things to check out are welcome.
