Double Bass Beethoven 6, mvmt 4 no extension

of the three 16th note runs, the middle one contains no notes below E. would you play the first or third of these runs entirely up an octave, transpose individual notes (i doubt it?) or a combination of both?

is there a conventional way to play this without those low notes?

Note the 8v notation (sometimes shown as 8va) ‘play the passage an octave higher’. It is telling you what wathaet said.
