Usually the whole thread, it keeps me from looking like an asshat........well, as much as anything can..........

I don't read any of it. I just assume everyone is trash-talking me and I retaliate very emotionally.
well there was this one time i was walking through the mall and i saw one of those fountains with a bunch of change in it, i took some and bought some pop rocks from mr. bulkys
Usually read the whole thing, but sometimes someone says something that I need to say something to, so I say something of absolutely no importance.
I'll read the entire thread if it's under three pages. If it's a larger discussion, I'll usually just read the most recent responses. It usually depends on the topic.
I'll read as much as I can stomach to make sure that I don't repeat something some other poster has said. Saves all the "I already said that!" crap...

It depends on a few factors:
1) Length, if it's a page, sure; if it's 4 or 5, probably not
2) Content, if it's a lot of arguing or OT from the OP, I'll usually skip and go to the last few posts
3) Topic, it depends on if the thread responses interest. Are they informative or just opinions?

usually try and read the whole thread, cause I don't feel worthy of posting if not. Unless it's like the james joyce thread or TPBM
Always the first and last pages at least. If the threads over 5 pages i don't read the whole thing unless it's exceptionally funny or interesting.

Very good point.
I think posting without reading the whole thread is about like someone liberally salting their food without tasting it first.
I really try to read (or at least scan) the entire thread first, then Quote/agree/offer more related info, If any posters have already stated my point of view.
I think anyone that skips these steps are loosing out on strengthening their own posts effectiveness, learning more about the subject, and is a rude poster that deserves to have his opinions ignored, in the same way he does to ours.
