Beginner looking for an amp

Well, let's say I wouldn't mind spending 275 on a nice amp but I could stretch it to get something like the Rumble 200 if that would have its benefits, which I'm not sure about.

I've been keeping my eye on some used amps over here but had some doubts about quality / previous road live. Also had some lesser experiences with used gear.

I've learned that, especially when you're a beginner, it's better to get something decent to start with which will not put you off because it's not very good.
You already have to 'survive' your crappy beginner playing, better to not let the gear hold you back.
So I'd rather spent a bit more, as said, money is not the biggest issue although getting a crazy expensive amp with much more power and/or features then I'll ever need seems not so smart either.

The Rumble 100 is an amazing little combo. There are several members of the Fender Rumble Club that have pulled off some serious gigs with the 100. For personal practice at reasonable volume levels or with headphones the differences between the 100 and 200 are going to be negligible. They both have the very same pre-amp/front end, and they both have D-Class power amps. The difference between the Eminence 12" woofer and the Eminence 15" woofer is also very minute. Loud volume levels with a drummer and electric guitars is where the Rumble 200 is going to really show it's value when you plug in another 8 ohm speaker cabinet to access the full 200 watts and move more air. Until that time comes the 100 is just fine and dandy. Take your pick as you can't go wrong. :thumbsup:

Hey thanks for the info Linnin, I didn't realize that, also checked the Fender site for specs on the 200: 200 Watts @ 4 ohms (with Extension Cabinet), 140 Watts @ 8 ohms (Internal)
And the 100: 100 Watts @ 8 Ohms

So without an extension cabinet the 200 will deliver 140W to the 15" driver compared to 100W to the 12" for the 100.
And to access the full 200W power I would have to add, say, a Rumble cabinet starting at € 311 which would make a great powerful rig but also makes the price difference much bigger: € 275 for the 100 and € 796 for the 200.

Looks like I'm narrowing choices down to the Rumble 100 being best bang for the buck.

Bad news: it's out of stock so I have to wait 8 weeks as their supplier doesn't have it in stock either :(

Man, that's bummer! Do they have a Rumble 200? Or can you order a Rumble 100 elsewhere? A two month wait is a long time when you don't have any bass amp at all.
Even a full 16 months since the V3 Rumbles were introduced at Winter NAMM 2014, They are still selling faster than Fender can make them. Fender cranked up an entirely new facility in Indonesia just to make Rumbles and their guitar amp counterpart the new Fender Champion line. They too have been selling like mad.

I can order the Rumble 100 elsewhere but not for the same price.
I could order the 40 from them and send it back later (60 days return policy) so then I would have to wait just 2 weeks more for the 100.
Maybe use the Mustang I guitar amp I own for the time being?
But then I would be assuming the 8 week delivery doesn't turn into an 18 week delivery...

Not doubting their quality but there being so many other options which, I reckon, aren't bad either to say at least, I wonder why.
Is the Fender brand name that strong? Sound quality? Weight? Just wondering.

Yes, Yes, and Yes. Fender Rumbles have very successfully broken all the rules. It used to be: ' Light, Loud, or cheap. Pick any two.' Fender Rumble gives you great tone and superb sound quality at extreme SPL and so light and well designed no other company can come close even at two or three times the price.
