Beginner need help with first decent amp buy

Peavey or Traynor. Good, cheap, easily available.

When it comes time to upgrade, I can't think of any reason to go anywhere except Aguilar these days.

OP needs something more generally available, preferably with a good warranty. I’d suggest a Rumble 200 or 500, assuming it can be obtained new for $500.00 USD or less.

@Ikan , is that American Old West bar that my Swedish colleagues took me to about 12 years ago still operating? The bartenders and waitresses wearing cap pistols and western wear, with the fast-draw robot game being played by the patrons? They drove about an hour or a bit more north of Uppsala. I had a great time there!

I wouldnt know really, because i live about 7 hours North of uppsala, sorry But i hope its Still Up and running, thats sounds great!

I'll tell you this: I've never heard a Fender Rumble.
Know what else I've never heard?
Someone say they "screwed up" when they bought a Rumble!

Yeah well as most in this post seem to agree is that the Fender Rumble is a really good amp. And i think that will most likely be what i will buy. Just because it isnt that big, it looks clean seems fairly simple for a beginner and has a great sound to it. I think it has all i need for a amp at the moment.

Im super glad for all the response ive got and i just love this TB forum and im happy to say i will continue posting here and reading posts!

The reason I brought that one up is that you'll have enough power (watts) to play with a band once you join one. It can be used for practice as well.

When i started to play combos were less powered, more expensive and they were weighted twice or more than nowadays. Todey with a few of money you can buy a 200w 15kg....
