Hey guys,i just wanted to get a feel from someone who has a different take on this than i have maybe. OR,maybe you would feel the same as me. I have acquired a yamaha bbg4sii. yamaha bb604. parker hornet. conklin groovetools gt4. Being pretty much a beginner,i think i know what to look for in an instrument. They all feel good to me,They all sound good, when someone who knows how to play, plays them. So,how do i go about trying to whittle down to 3 or possibly 2 of them. I THINK I KNOW WHICH 2 FEEL AND,SOUND THE BEST TO ME.But i would like some comments from some real bass players.Maybe the shortcomings of a particular bass. What to be aware of. aNYTHING YOU MAY THINK OF,I SHOULD BE THINKING OF.
All of those are good quality basses and I don't think you would go wrong with any so I'd keep the two you like the feel and sound of most, they'll inspire you to play more.
You already know which two you want to keep, keep them, you have now wasted everybody's time. I hope your happy with yourself.
Well no,i dont know. But i admit to leaning. THATS WHY,i asked for OPINIONS AND,THOUGHT,pros and, cons of the particular low end basses sitting in my house now. Honestly,i think i like the yamaha basses.I want to like the hornet, but im not sure yet.The conklin, eehhh, aint sure. I keep thinking that once i learn to play, then i will be able to appreciate the hornet and,the gt4. Then i think,if i dont like em now i never will. I never liked cadillacs or,buicks. Now i love the cts-c and,the regal. Ya never know.
I'd hold on to the parker hornet, because that's just really unique and eyecatching.same with the conklin, the yamahas on the other hand, are fairly common, and if you find yourself missing them, they seem like they'd be easy to find again. but alas, the decision is up to you.
