Behringer Bass V-AMP Pro

You don't need a normal amp, you can now get away with a simpler power amp (Crown, QSC, a few others of note) and a good cab (or two if you want to take full advantage of stereo output).

Hi All!

I just purchased the Bass V-amp Pro and was wondering which operating mode to use.
I want to plug into the Vamp and send the signal to my Ashdown Mag 300 (with 1 Ashdown cabinet). Just for home use.
What output do i use ( i guess the LEFT analog line output?) and what operating mode do i select?

please help me out here. :bassist:

Congrats!

I highly suggest you use my Quick Start Guide to properly config + de-crapify your V-AMP

http://www.zinfanus.com/vamp/guide.pdf

Use either one of the 1/4" UNBALANCED outs to connect to your amp's POWER AMP IN or EFFECT RETURN jack

Let me know if you want a Member # to make it official

Cheers!

This looks great!

Others who have expressed difficulty programming their FCB1010 may actually find this a very useful solution.

Cheers!

It does sound cool but I think I like the UnO Firmware better. It's just that I also use the FCB1010 with Guitar Rig, soft synths, etc on my computer and thus the VamPROM Bass sound a bit limiting. But I still need to look at it better.

EDIT: And looking just at the main features I believe I know how to make the stock firmware do that. I'll try and if I succeed I'll post a tutorial here.

King, you could maybe focus on finding a quality bass cab, and then changing the speakers to something else that responds better to a the Low B string.

That's kinda bass-ackwards. A cab and the speakers chosen for it if done right is a system, with the cab's internal size and port tuning and size designed FOR the driver. Sometimes a retrofit will work well, but more often than not the cab itself isn't good for the "best" drivers so the sum result is actually not "best".

You guys that want accurate modeling that translates well into the recording and live environments, check out the fEARfuls. Modeling was a big part of why they were designed.

I surely did not prove that buying a quality bass cab and then changing the speakers to something else is a good idea. Retrofitting a cab is a bad idea unless you know what you are doing. A lot of people throw money away doing that.

If you meant something else, you did a poor job in expressing it.

I'd love to have a fEARful cab but I'm not much of a DIYer (at least not in this area, now when it comes to computers on the other hand...)

So I'd probably have one built for me, which probably wouldn't be any cheaper than just getting an Acme.

Also, a fEARful would be overkill in my situation. I don't play gigs or anything, I just practice at home. But I am a bit of an audiophile and desire the greatest quality I can get.
