behringer inuke bridged cable question

I just got a inuke 1000 and want to run it bridged mono. In new to speakon cables. The cable I have is speakon to 1/4" with pins +1 and -1 present. The back of the amp says bridged is +1, +2 . The manual doesn't mention anything about the cable (or changing it ) for bridge mode or stereo, just the pin out for running bi amped. Do I need to mod my cable? Or just use it as is?

Radio shack doesn't carry speakon to my knowledge. I'm not sure if they would offer the speakon to 1/4" cables with anything but 2 pole connectors, I'm not sure though.

I have a NU6000DSP in my rig. So far, so good.

Yeah they didn't have any . Back to GC tomorrow I guess. Cool, I haven't heard much bad about these. I know a few DJ's that push them hard outside with no issues but no one else that uses them for a bass rig. We'll put her to the test and see how it does. I'm just excited about shaving 40 lbs off my rig lol. Have to see how it sounds vs the class a/b amp I have now, hopefully not too much different.

I have two Inuke 3000 dsp amps, run them bridged into about a 5.3 ohm load for my larger PA rig. So far, they are ok. They have this nasty habit of giving me SILENCE for just a blink of an eye when clipped, however. Not good on FOH cabs....

Now let me ask, when you run them , do you dime the controls on the amp and then control the volume from the input device?

The reason I ask is because I currently run my preamp volume where I like it (just before the tubes distort , about 4 ) and then adjust the power amp volume to the desired level.

Is one way better than the other? Or does it just depend on the setup?

I tend to run them dimed, but only because this way, no helpful hands can "turn the knob" in a way that would cause my rig to blow up. Not the best for gain structure, but I live in "combat audio" world.

Agreed! I've been running in circles lately, job change, shop move, trips to CT, gigs, and kids out of school lol. Let's shoot for about a week or 2. I should have a lull in the action then. Thanks for the info!

Just an update, got the cable made and the amp works well. Some mids get lost in the mix but not bad. Only issue is the line out from my svt preamp isn't quite hot enough to drive it properly. It distorts a bit unless I have the volume up pretty good on the pre, and have to crank the master on the power amp. Still trying a few things. I want to like this amp badly , the weight loss is awesome. But I'm not sure its gonna work out. :(

That isn't his pic. He plays an ampeg pre, and a "dumb" inuke 1000. That pic is actually an inuke 6000 dsp! Yes, for a bass rig. Not mine, either. Mine, this week, will be a PVR 1600, tho I do have two inuke 3000 dsp amps at my disposal.

You should NEVER run a bridged power amp into a 1/4" phone plug. It's dangerous both to the amp and yourself personally. Both the tip and the metal barrel of the phone plug will be live with respect to ground and more to each other! Retrofit your cabinet with a speakon socket to be safe. It's a simple modification.

Not alot to say, Parmetals case to make this gig bag friendly. Switched the single ended inputs to the front, moved the usb port to the rear. I have EMG-X/EMG BQC system active in my bass so no pre amp. Gig bag with bass on one shoulder, amp bag and small mic/cord bag on the other. Folding mic stand on top of a fEARful 15/6/1 on wheels. This is how I walk into any gig with a smile on my face.
Nobody wants to hear the iNUKE story for what ever reason. I'm not sure there is a better DSP in any class D amp. Works superb for bass guitar IMO.
