T40's are super ! I had one when they first came out. I recently bought a black and maple one. They took Fender to task back in the day ! I paid $225 new with case for my first one back in the day.

Thanks man. The PAF headstock means first year of production, '78-'79, so they're sisters.

I will have one...just because it was one of the first I learned to play on and was a great bass - I really didn't know that at the time though. Hate that I didn't keep it.

Fwiw, the sooner the better. People are finally beginning to see the light and the prices on T-series guitars and basses (especially the flagship T-40 bass and T-60 guitar) are starting to climb. $275 was a little more than I wanted to pay for this bass, but it was a fair price and these don't come up locally very often.

Four or five years ago, I got a T-60 guitar,w/ohsc for $200.

I was so impressed with the grain, I didn't even see that it was PAF with no other patent numbers. Beautiful!

Did it come with a case? If so, what kind?
