Lead singer of the Go-Go's. I think she deserves more credit as a great front-woman. I don't think she wrote any songs, but her voice in my opinion was the key factor to their success.

Meh ..... beautiful woman, beautiful voice .... then and now.
I doubt they would have been as big without her, but that can be said for at least 2 of the others in the band.
But they were ( and are ) a sum total of their parts.
They hit it big together, but none really done anything big on their individual projects.

i liked em,ever since i first heard them.
my wife finds it funny that im a fan,but to meet me you wouldnt guess in a million years i would like the go,go,s but i do.
those ladies have my deep respects and appreciation,and they were lucky to have jane singing with them too.

LOL! For a brief nanosecond in the 1980s it seemed like the Go-Gos vs Bangles fan battles were going to get as heated as the Beatles vs Rolling Stones fan battles of the 1960s.

They didn't.

I will confess that at that time I had a smidgeon more respect for The Bangles' musicianship...but I think over the next four decades my appreciation for The Go-Gos musicianship has only increased.

And both bands write incredibly catchy pop tunes. As did whoever penned Ms Carlisle's solo material.

I think one Rick Nowels had a siginificant hand here, as with Madonna, Stevie Nicks, Adele, Lana Del Ray, Dua Lipa, etc, etc... A very talented chap, IMHO.

Definitely dig the Go-Gos. I think Jane Wiedlin's contributions to the band outweigh Belinda's. Great band though.

huge fan of the go-go's since the 80's. first thing i play in my car when i leave work for vacation is "vacation". 'lust to love' is an absolute favorite.

the only thing i can say about ms. carlisle that might be construed as 'negative' is, either on video or live, belinda has kinda been a bit 'pitchy' (yes, with a 'p').

i always gravitated towards jane wiedlin. the pixie cut. the voice. strumming on the gibson sg...

Realized my mistake halfway through writing this post, but because it’s so darn good, I’m gonna drop it here anyway. Someone will enjoy it. Hopefully.
