Alan Loshbaugh, RIP (Chef on Talkbass) was a dear friend and bandmate. We played together for the last 20 years and we first met playing in a band in the early 80's. When he was battling cancer, he asked me to take care of all his equipment. I asked him if he had any specific instructions. He said no, other than to put the gear into the hands of people that will use it. He, his family, and their lawyer considered all the gear given to me. He had many basses, amps, speakers, etc. Much of the equipment is already either in private hands or donated to music schools. However, this Sadowsky bass listed is now for sale. There is no other equipment from Al for sale at this time. The price is firm. You pay to ship and I can estimate that for you depending on your location. I can take PayPal or work with you on other payment arrangements. Message me with questions. 9-23 - Just added a picture of the Sadowsky case and the bass in the case.
So sorry to hear. Wasn’t aware of his passing. Got off of Facebook a couple of years ago. Every blessing to his friends and family.
I used to play G&L , had like 6 or 7 . Had some good chats with chef , he liked G&Ls . Best wishes to all his family and friends.
Yep, many of us know this bass. I'd buy it if I could just to have it. But alas. Alan's memory is sacred here.
Wow - I recognized that top immediately. That bass was my custom order and I had no idea that it made its way to Alan.
Five years into my own cancer battle. Sounds like Chef fought his with grace and dignity, and with the support of many loved ones. Hug your own loved ones tight! ... but only after you master the next bar of Portrait of Tracy (projecting: I never got past the second).
Thanks Green Knight. I hope you are able to fight the cancer away for good. We thought Chef had beat all the odds and was in the clear, but then it came back with a vengeance and took him out quickly. Best to you.
He told us. On Facebook actually; I remember the day he got the bad news from the docs; the tone of his update was different as I'm sure he knew his number had come up. You probably know the post I'm talking about. I had actually passed through Columbia a few weeks prior, considered calling Alan for a beer but decided not to because I was trying to make Salina by nightfall. I regret it now.
