Belouis Some's "Imagination" (Bernard Edwards, Tony Thompson)

Bernard Edwards and Tony Thompson were credited on Belouis Some's album Some People along with other bassists and drummers but no specifications were given as to who played on what tracks. I just saw an interview with Neville Keighley (Belouis Some) where he confirms that it was Bernard and Tony on this track:

The 80s signature, one of those periods when a certain soundfeeling is present in pop music, and it was substantive, and felt alive, not formulaic. (I'm leaving out any kvetches about the state of things right now.)
Like the Philly sound. Like Detroit. Regional like New Orleans, Manchester. Heck there's an Icelandic sound (more for electronica, but still). It's neat when it's in the air like that, and it's actually good.
