Benavente 7 string fretless custom build pics!

Yeah, and in this case starting price is a false comparison. A lot of options that are included on a Fodera are extra on the Benavente, so the prices start converging rapidly. But the Fodera is still a few thousand more, of course!
Either way, cool looking top. I'm glad to see Chris's business is still going strong- it's been pretty quiet on this forum lately.
Yeah! I think a lot of people were holding off on buying a new bass for a while, but after a brief hiatus, it's time to upgrade!
Here's the picture of the Pale moon ebony fretboard I ordered from the website. It's on the far left. It a whole inch thick so maybe I'll get lucky and it will look even cooler on the inside.

I think that body shape looks most balanced at 5 strings- six is ok, but 4 is weird and it looks squashed with 7+.
It can be weird at 4. When I was first deciding to get a 7 I was going to have it be a double cut, but seeing this 9 on his homepage changed my mind!
UPDATE!
Took my piece of Ebony over to Benavente's to see whats inside!
First we sanded off some nasty chatter and protective wax
Good as new!
Then we chopped it open
It yeilded 3 fretboard blanks, but for the purposes of my 7 string i got 2 boards to choose from.

Which side do you guys think I should use? I asked on facebook and everybody seems pretty divided...
Okay so excuse the poor MS paint job, but now that I see them with lines I think I like the bottom one!
i like the top one better ....has more brown hughs rather than olive like bottom.
